Grants awarded through this program may span multiple years and generally offer up to around $50,000 in total support. The funding is intended to sustain ongoing local efforts and may be used flexibly for staffing, community engagement, leadership development, or everyday operations that help deepen the group’s impact.

In addition to multi-year support, smaller annual grants in the range of $5,000 to $10,000 are also offered on a recurring basis. These shorter-term awards are especially geared toward newer or emerging groups, or those responding to timely issues in their communities. Funds may assist with building infrastructure, piloting new efforts, or strengthening organizing capacity during key moments of growth or transition.

This opportunity is open to a wide range of organizations and initiatives, including those that are just getting started and may not have formal nonprofit status. Applicants should have a strong connection to the communities they serve and reflect the lived experiences of those most affected by the issues being addressed. Groups based in rural settings or serving communities that have been historically excluded from traditional funding streams may be given additional consideration.

The purpose of the funding is to support transformative, community-driven work focused on long-term solutions. Applicants are encouraged to bring forward approaches that center leadership development, local voices, and structural change. The program emphasizes equitable resource distribution and seeks to invest in communities that are building their own paths forward.
