Summary

This grant is designed to support Black-owned small businesses across the United States. It provides a one-time award to eligible, operating for-profit businesses that have been officially registered for at least one year. Applicants must fall within a specific revenue range (moderate annual gross receipts) and be majority Black-owned. The grant is not available to nonprofits, spiritual or holistic healing services, alcohol, tobacco, gambling, adult entertainment, weapons-related industries, or individuals.

Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis until the funding is depleted. Award amounts vary depending on fund availability, with individual awards intended to support business growth initiatives—such as marketing efforts, equipment, professional services, or operational scaling. The primary intent is to promote equitable access to capital and help Black entrepreneurs expand capacity, invest in resources, and strengthen community economic impact.

Eligible recipients include registered for-profit small businesses meeting the demographic and financial criteria. Entities outside this scope—such as nonprofits or disallowed industries—cannot apply. The program is open nationwide, so eligible businesses from any state may participate, although the timing of application cycles and total funds available will affect award outcomes.

By providing focused, non-dilutive grant funding, this opportunity enables Black-owned businesses to pursue sustainable growth and investment strategies. It aims to address historic funding disparities by delivering accessible capital that empowers owners to enhance operations, expand reach, or invest in skilled support—without needing to seek loans or investors. Decisions are made rapidly, and once a business qualifies and applies, awards can be issued quickly until the pool is fully utilized.

If you are located in Washington and working in the area of Business & Commerce, this funding opportunity may be a good fit. For more relevant grant options that support your work and priorities, visit The Grant Portal and use the Search Grant tool to find opportunities.
